February 2012 - Plum Blossom by Arleen February 2012 - Plum Blossom by Arleen
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! ♥

February 14 presents Plum Blossom as a February motif comes in variety of bouqets: one big, multi-layered flower or three smaller plums with golden centres for senior maiko, and bouqets of small plum blossoms with or without shidare for junior maiko :)

Mine are not very similar to the originals I guess ([link] ) - smaller and more regular (a flaw of character I guess, maybe I'll make an irregular bouqet in March), but I guess most details fit :)

A closeup: [link]

Happy V-Day!

I don't use any brand I just go to a store and buy the thinnest one available - so in fact, those are very different ropes each time I run out of the last stock. I just ask to see what is available, see which one doesn't curl and buy it.

I'm sorry, I know it wasn't very helpful, but really buy them like that!
I think I might start stocking supplies for kanzashi in my Etsy shop one day - people seem to have a lot of trouble buying what they need

That's great idea! Hardest supply to get is the rice glue :(
I hope I can see some supplies on your Etsy store soon :)

I won't supply rice glue - I can hardly get some myself, as UE banned it. So I learned how to live withour it - I use a native brand, watered down to make it dry slower. Works just fine :)
