Disco Earrings by Arleen
Disco Earrings
These little Disco Dance dangling earrings are wonderfully colorful, while being simple in form. Made from vintage kimono fabric that has bee chosen for it's unique design, washed and made into lovely pieces of jewelry using tsumami zaiku technique.

Backs are special type of very thin and felt, secret of Wisteria Gardens jewelry, seen cut edges (natural property of kanzashi) sealed with rice paste (very safe for the skin, much more skin-friendly than chemical glues!)

Silver-plated open ear wires with a white rhinestone.…
Bling by Arleen
Something a little different from my usual line of work. Darker frame with a splash of randomly placed colors and a stamen finish. A non-typical addition to this 2-way clip is a detachable chain with rhinestones so you can wear it with or without the extra bling
Rinzu Camellia by Arleen
Rinzu Camellia
Yesterday I've tried making a new camellia. I used a gorgeous, richly textured rinzu fabric and adorned it with yellow stamens. I think it looks quite unique!

I love rinzu fabric for it's richness and subtle pattern which adds life to  tsumami works but doesn't steal away attention from the flowers themselves
There's a good chance I will be going to Prague at the end of the month! Anyone lives in Prague and would like to see me? :)…

So, I'd like to make a giveaway to celebrate 1000 Likes and this time the prizes are: earrings, a ring and a pendant instead of just one item. You can choose one of three items, but if a lot of people Like & Share I will draw either one, two or three people.

I am in love with the intricacy of your work and how detailed but simple they can be. Where do you learn such a craft as fine tuned as this?

Hi! Thank you for stopping by and asking :)

There is no magic in this, really. It seems some people think there is some sort of magic book, or tutorial that helps to learn a craft in one evening  and achieve the same results they see in pictures of my kanzashi. Well, it only takes practice. But years and years of practice and constantly improving oneself, looking for better techniques and minding every little detail.

well working with ribbon and fabric is sometimes tough...that I know. but yours is akin to origami, it's so fascinating to see. :)
